Where exactly is Okaloosa Island? Is it by Destin?
Okaloosa Island is about 6 miles west of Destin, between Destin and Ft. Walton Beach.
Is your condo directly on the Gulf?
Yes, our condo is directly on the gulf. The balcony runs parallel to the beach. It is NOT a side view, but a full view of the beach and ocean.
I have never been to the Okaloosa Island area before. What is the water like?
The water is simply beautiful. On most days it has a light emerald color-hence the name "THE EMERALD COAST". On some days (after a storm), the water may be cloudy, but usually it clears up fast. Wave heights vary with weather and season conditions. And, remember the sunglasses. The beach is so incredibly white, sunglasses are a must.
How many people can your condo accommodate?
The condo will comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests. There is 1 king size bed, 2 single beds, and a set of bunk beds for the kids, as well as a queen size sofa bed.
How old does one have to be to rent your condo?
Blue Dolphin Rentals strives to be family oriented. To that end, we try not to rent to anyone less than twenty-five years old.
How old is your condo?
The Blue Dolphin complex was built in 2002.
Do you have other condos for rent?
This 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo is privately owned and is the only one offered for rent through this website. There area a total of 10 condo units in the Blue Dolphin complex, each owned and marketed independently.
What happens if there is a hurricane?
If there is an official hurricane warning during your stay you may leave and receive a refund for the unused portion of your stay. If you choose to remain in the condo, naturally, there would be no refund.
Is there an elevator at Blue Dolphin?
Yes, there is an elevator. Fortunately, our covered parking spaces, which guests can use, are very close to the elevator . Our condo is located on the third floor, we use the steps mostly.
Are there restaurants and grocery stores nearby?
Yes, there are several quality restaurants less than five minutes from Blue Dolphin. And, of course, Destin is only six miles or so away, so you can find many more there. See our Activities page for more information. As for grocery stores, PUBLIX opened a brand new store only about 1 minute, maybe a mile from our condo, in July 2000. A WINN DIXIE MARKETPLACE is about ten minutes away in FORT WALTON BEACH. A convenience store with several items is only a block or two down from our condo.
What do we need to bring (linens, pots and pans, etc.)?
The condo is fully furnished. Everything you need is there. We supply bed linens, and bath towels etc. You will need to bring your beach towels. So pack your clothes and stop by the grocery store and have a great time.
Is there a pool?
Yes, the pool is between Blue Dolphin and the beach.
We want to stay at your place - what do we do next?
Just contact us and let us know what week (or days) you prefer. You are welcome to call (405-255-4112), or fill out our
contact form. We will verify availability. Once we settle on the date, we will send you a rental contract form for you to sign and return, along with your deposit. That's it!
What are your cancellation policies?
Cancellations more than 30 days before arrival will incur $150 cancellation fee. That is, half of your deposit will be returned. If the cancellation is within 30 days of arrival, then
the full rental payment is forfeited.
